Hello from England

Hi guys,

I live in England and I'm a long time member on the UK Supra forums but I have met some of you guys before when I have been in Germany.

I often go to the Nurburgring each year but also do holiday travelling in Germany and other parts of Europe with my supra.

I am a Computer Aided Design Engineer and also have a racing license. I've been racing Formula Ford and Caterham cars since 2003, but recent years have become very expensive. So instead I have been doing more track days and driving holidays in Europe.

I have been learning to speak German language for a few years but unfortunately I am not good at writing German language, so I apologise for only writing in English.

Anyway, here is my Supra, if you see me driving in Germany this summer time flash your lights! haveaniceday.png

Hey AJI,

welcome to our message boards haveaniceday.png
I remember seeing a picture of your Supra next to some of our German Supras owned by Sascha, Marc etc. It was at the Nürburgring a couple of years ago.

A Supra in the alps is not an uncommon view grin.png

Where is yours taken? Looks like somewhere near Berchtesgaden? What's your name in the UK Forums? Some of us are also members there. If you look closely you can even spot the Forums sticker in my rear quarter window.

Hope you have a good time here. If you are somewhere near the alps again give me a message, I'll hook you up for some Bavarian brews XD.png
What CADs are you working with?

Japanfanatic - Yes that is correct, I was there at the Nürburgring with Sascha and a few others. I remember he had a BIG power Supra. I took one or two of the guys around in my Supra on track that weekend. haveaniceday.png

The picture of my Supra in the Alps was taken close to Fussen on our driving holiday in 2010. We went to Munich, Fussen and then the Black Forest. Some very scenic roads in that part of the world!

The CAD I am doing is to do with our road network in the North West of England. I am producing new road layouts and bridge designs. Although the UK government is not spending much money on roads at the moment sad.png
But things will get better as the banks become more regulated and confidence grows again in the money system.

(My name on the UK forums is the same as it is here) haveaniceday.png

CanisLupus - Yeah maybe we have haveaniceday.png
Each time I have been there I have seen at least one other Supra. I've been going to the 'ring since 2005 and then after that I started going 2 times every year. It is a fantastic race track.

MrMagou & Austrian Supra - Thanks cool.png I have noticed other nationalities on our UK forums and as I like my holidays in Germany I thought I would join here to see what you guys get up to with your Supras.

Ah ok, you are using special tools, not the standard tools for mechanical engineering like Solid Works, ProE, Catia etc. ?

MrMagou & Austrian Supra - Thanks cool.png I have noticed other nationalities on our UK forums and as I like my holidays in Germany I thought I would join here to see what you guys get up to with your Supras.

Always great to meet Supra enthusiasts from all over the world!

You are using your Supra on a regular basis at trackdays? What's your suspension+brakes+wheels setup?

The only track I drive with the Supra is the Nurburgring. I used to also have an EVO 6 RS which I used to drive on other tracks in the UK, but I have also done the Nurburgring with the EVO haveaniceday.png
(And before that I had a Celica GT4 which I took to the 'ring).
So yes, I have done a lot of track days in various cars but I also used to race Formula Ford and Caterhams on most of the main race tracks in the UK.
I did get lucky in 2008 when I went to work for the Formula 1 race track in Shanghai, China. That was a good experience. I was working as a motorsport instructor for one year and I was teaching Euoropeans and Americans how to drive fast in Porsche 911s and Audi RS4. haveaniceday.png

I used to have my Supra on RS-R sports suspension. This worked well on the track but was very hard for the road. So I went back to the normal Toyota suspension.
My Supra is BPU, with uprated intercooler and a few other basic upgrades. But to be honest I don't want to modify it too much. I like the car as it is and it drives well enough as standard. But for taking to the Nurburgring I have uprated the brakes with better brake pads, brake discs, brake lines and fluid.
Well hopefully this link works...this is my car on the UK forums .... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=51

With CAD I use AutoCAD and MX and also Lightwave 3D. AutoCAD does the 2D and 3D technical drawings and MX does the 3D accurate road levels. Lightwave does 3D animations and other visual presentations.

Nice car and pictures. haveaniceday.png How many miles does it have on the clock? Is it AT or 6MT?

Maybe you should try the coils made by H&R. As far as i know is that the softest aftermarket suspension for the Supra. I also have it in mine and I am very satisfied with it.

So your car is basically stock you are saying? Did you take your car with stock pads and discs to the track before upgrading them? Did you experience any signs of brake fade?

Yeah I know Lightwave. Pretty sophisticated rendering tool.
